Haslett Lacrosse Club History

The Haslett Lacrosse Club grew out of the East Lansing lacrosse program. We had 16 Haslett boys playing lacrosse in East Lansing in 2004. In 2006 we realized that we had enough boys interested in starting a Haslett 7th/8th grade lacrosse team. Over the winter, four fathers, led by Michael McCue, of these boys sat down to build the Haslett Lacrosse Club.

The first boys team began in 2006 with 28 7th and 8th grade boys. The boys came out strong in their first year learning many skills and winning many games. In 2007 we added a 5th/6th grade boys team and a middle school girls team. The girls showed impressive skill development and gameplay in their first year. We were also fortunate to begin a girls high school team.

In 2008 the first Haslett-Williamston high school boys varsity team was created with both a varsity and JV team. In 2009 we added a girls 5th/6th team. The Haslett-Williamston girls high school will began their first year as a varsity program in 2010.

Our players, both boys and girls, have a reputation for hard work, fair play, and dedication to the sport.

Several of our boys and girls players have been named to the Michigan Select team representing the state at the US Lacrosse U13 or U15 National Festivals. One of our girls coaches was selected to coach the U13 and U15 girls Michigan Select teams. Some of our coaches serve on state and national lacrosse committees and have presented at the US Lacrosse National Convention.
